Health care disparities, defined as variation in quality and safety of care by patient sociodemographic characteristics, have been a significant and persistent problem in American health care.  While California hospitals and hospital systems have often been at the forefront of the quest to achieve health care equity, significant work still remains ahead of us.

Hospital Quality Institute, in partnership with BETA Healthcare Group, presents Care for the Caregiver, an online course providing first aid for the head and heart — not only for clinical workers, but anyone working in health care.

Recognizing that talking to someone who understands health care workers’ unique situations, this program is psychological first aid for those on the frontlines of the worldwide war with COVID-19.

POSTPONED TO 2021

In light of the latest COVID-19 development and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommendations, the Hospital Quality Institute (HQI) has cancelled its Annual Conference, scheduled for September 29-30 in Long Beach and November 15-16 in Napa.
