Overview

Regional Quality and Patient Safety Leader Network (RQPSLN)

HQI acknowledges that there are multiple points of responsibility and accountability to oversee the day-to-day challenges of quality and patient safety. HQI created .   Regional Quality and Patient Safety Leader Network (RQPSLN): invitational groups of improvement-minded thought leaders to build professional and personal relationships, share ideas and expertise, stay abreast of critical topics, learn from successes within and outside of health care, advise the HQI and Senior Leaders on needs for focus, development, and research; and to exchange information about local challenges, lessons, and solutions.

RQPSLN includes Senior Quality Leaders plus chapter and state presidents of targeted professional associations (e.g., Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology, Association of perioperative Registered Nurses, American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), and American College of Healthcare Executives, to name a few) for spread and sustainability.

A key to the success of leaders in this role is the opportunity to learn from other leaders facing similar challenges—to share ideas and strategies across geographic and operating entity boundaries. It is exponentially easier to improve together than alone, and the opportunity to connect with like -minded colleagues can accelerate the knowledge, skills, and experience needed for quality leader success.
